ABOUT US

Our Story

On February 13th, 2020, a pivotal moment unfolded in Manchester, England when Ehizogie Olatunji Odigie, the Founder of New Wine Nation experienced police brutality first-hand, shortly after the wave of the Nigerian EndSARS movement and the infamous United States of American George Floyd incident which sparked global uproar. These respective incidents invariably sparked the need for a global awakening through the creation of The New Wine Nation Movement. New Wine Nation is a virtual learning hub that focuses on society building and the translation of community knowledge into wealth. It is a mass appeal whose body comprises a global network of inclusive and diverse people.

Over the years, the organisation’s mission has always been clear in addressing issues of; Education Access and Quality, Racial Profiling and Discrimination in Law Enforcement, Women Empowerment, Employment Disparities, Mental Health Considerations, Healthcare Disparities, Housing Discrimination, Challenges In the Immigration System, Championing Support for Local Learning Centres among other things. The Founder’s vision has been to work charitably towards influencing the nations by rebuilding a broken justice system using sustainable restorative approaches that are equitable and accountable, while simultaneously making families and communities safer and stronger. Having amassed a wealth of knowledge, Ehizogie has demonstrated his unwavering commitment and overall commission to continue establishing a culture of challenging ignorance at the highest and lowest levels to give hope and power back to the people.

OUR MISSION

New Wine Nation Community Interest Company invites individuals, creatives, organisations and governments in all spheres to become a part of the blueprint, collaborating towards history-making by lending their voices towards the organisations mission of building, bridging, and addressing knowledge gaps in the culture. The Founder’s trail-blazing, illuminating and ground-breaking vision continues to gain traction, embodying collective voices that are heard through strategic alliances which foster and translate real-time stories, projects, ideas, testimonials, and messages into measurable educational, business, political, human capital and overall national development.

Our Founder

Ehizogie Odigie, a prolific writer who is also known as ‘Ehiz’ is the amplifying voice and driving force behind the organisation’s mission. In his journey which has been marked by integrity, resilience and strength of character, his advanced efforts for the black community and all other ethnic groups embody the transformative power of ‘second chances’ and translating trials into triumphs. Through his bold leadership, his social and political capital which he has strategically gained over the years in addition to a growing expertise in mobilising and uniting influential communities together, his vast experience brings the mission to a widening audience that has worked together over the years to close poverty gaps and equip communities with the tools needed in creating empowering streams of generational wealth.

From Ehizogie’s account of his life to date, as a brave advocate embarking on the adventurous journey of rewriting history, he describes how unfazed he is about the limelight, explaining how he was once a traumatized victim of police brutality but managed to grow into a fearless community leader who turned his tragedies into triumphs and scars into glory. Ehiz attributes his success and unrelenting passion in changing the negative narratives given to the African people, acknowledging his grandfather Major General James Oluleye’s contributions to his life, in addition to crediting his mother Taiwo Oluleye’s disciplined approach in successfully raising her children as a single mom. He often references his late grandfather’s book Military Leadership In Nigeria. Ehiz has illustrated how from a young age, as far back as 1999, he was featured in a documentary on BBC African Perspective, in renowned Nigerian Nobel Prize-winning writer Wole Soyinka’s semi-autobiographical drama Document Of Identity, a set recounting the regime of Nigerian head of state General Sani Abacha, which spotlights the plight of political asylum seekers in London.

Among other things, with the Founder’s growing influence in society coupled with a determination to develop Africa through what he describes as “winning the war on owning our narratives” and through the development of poverty alleviation action programs, Ehiz’s charitable work has broadened in scope, impacting the Northern and Southern regions of Nigeria. New Wine Nation’s Leadership Development Educational Access and Mentorship Collaborative Network is an initiative that cuts across borders through an end-to-end local and international student admission program, which focuses on securing student scholarships and admission into partnering universities and working with Training and Development corporations, thereby establishing a foundation towards nationwide building. Through the Founder’s diligent behind-the-scenes lobbying efforts towards influencing government policy, Ehiz frequently lends his voice in political spaces when called as a representative for enforcing good governance practices. He has backed noteworthy personalities in Europe and Africa who have eventually gone on to win elections emerging as Prime Ministers and Presidents of leading nations.

Ehizogie was born on January 23rd, 1993, to Nigerian parents in Lagos, and his story meticulously describes a young man’s journey of healing and transformation into a freedom-based mindset that was resisted by many harsh obstacles. He has described how he successfully navigated his way through tough battles of fear and trauma caused by bouts of short-lived toxic environments within family, friends and institutions and managed to translate his fears into power and pains into purpose. In his words “using eternal truths became my choice weapon of war which triggered the complete rewiring of my mindset and reprogramming of natural environmental laws into progressive thinking patterns, causing a wildfire spread of greater good across my territory.”
